Steps

  1. Wash or dry clean everything before storing, even items worn once.
  2. Let each piece dry completely before packing.
  3. Fold sweaters and knits so they do not stretch on hangers.
  4. Use breathable cotton garment bags or lidded bins, and add cedar blocks or lavender sachets.
  5. Store in a cool, dark, dry place, not a damp basement or a hot attic.
  6. Label each bin with its contents and season.
  7. When you unpack, air items out and check for moth damage before wearing.
