Steps

  1. Take out everything you wore in the last month and look at what you reach for most.
  2. Pick two or three base colors that suit you and your life, and one or two accents.
  3. Check that most tops work with most bottoms.
  4. Store out-of-season and rarely worn pieces separately.
  5. Write a gap list: what would make more outfits work?
  6. Buy one gap item at a time, choosing quality over quantity within your budget.
  7. Review each season and swap pieces in and out.
