Steps

  1. Check the iron symbol on the label: one dot low, two medium, three high.
  2. Sort items so you iron low heat fabrics first while the iron warms up.
  3. Use a steamer for dresses, blouses and knits: hang the item and move the steamer top to bottom, not touching the fabric.
  4. Iron cotton and linen slightly damp for the smoothest result.
  5. Iron dark fabrics and wool inside out or under a thin cotton cloth to avoid shine.
  6. Hang or fold items right away while they are still warm.
  7. Empty the iron's water tank after use.
