Steps

  1. Gather your inspection report and the manuals or labels for major appliances.
  2. List monthly jobs, such as testing alarms and checking under sinks for drips.
  3. List seasonal jobs, such as changing filters, clearing the dryer vent and draining outdoor faucets before a freeze.
  4. List yearly jobs, such as having the heating system serviced.
  5. Put each job in the calendar you already use, with a repeating reminder.
  6. Keep a simple log of the date each job was done and anything you noticed.
