Steps

  1. Check the band and handles for nicks, tears or stretched spots, and replace any damaged band.
  2. Anchor it at chest height with a door anchor on the hinge side of a closed door that opens away from you, or around a solid post.
  3. Hold one end in each hand and step back until the band is lightly taut.
  4. Stand tall with soft knees and your ribs down.
  5. Pull your elbows back past your ribs, squeezing your shoulder blades together and down.
  6. Pause for a breath, then let your arms straighten slowly against the band.
  7. Step closer to make it easier or further away to make it harder.
